During the 2020 Covid Alert level 4 Lock-Down, Alby watched a lot of YouTube videos. where he stumbled across some food reviewers.  One reviewer who caught his eye was the One Bite Pizza Reviews in America. This got him thinking about what type of food review show could he do in New Zealand.  Alby thought that Fish and Chips is one of the most iconic kiwi meals and this is what he would want to base his show on.

In December 2020 after a few beers, lots of laughs, many name ideas, 1Fish1Scoop was born. Soon after a logo was designed, a gimbal was purchased, t-shirt printed, Alby was ready to get started. In January 2021 the first review was filmed and Alby and the team have not looked back. It has been a great journey so far, meeting small business owners, hearing their story, and trying their Fish and Chips. 

The goal? Clout? 1 million views? Nah, it is bascially to try every and any Fish and Chip shop in New Zealand. After that we are on to the world! At the end of the day this is a hobby for Alby and the team, who all have full time jobs. So to be able to create content, support small businesses and eat fish and chips on a weekly basis is pretty bloody cool!
